Machines

For many of our methods, suitable machinery does not yet exist. Large-scale mulch-based mixed cropping and the elimination of pesticides demand new technologies. Therefore, we modify existing machines and work closely with other machine innovators.

Our most important machines

Developing areas

Align the machinery with Controlled Traffic Farming (CTF)

All machines need the same track width.

We opted for 1.77 m, a standard width in Swiss agriculture. Harvesting machines, in particular, are often wider. We use alternatives such as a plot combine or a bed sieve harvester. These can be rented from us.

Icon RTK-GPS

All tractors are equipped with RTK GPS.

This allows us to achieve a tracking accuracy of ± 2 cm. A specially developed retrofit kit can be ordered from our partner Fink+Frosch .

Machines for mulching
Loading wagon.png

Our converted loading wagon spreads mulch.

It produces an even layer without manual adjustments. We can cover approximately 185 m per load.

Plant mulch.png

The MulchTec Planter plants directly in the mulch.
We can plant up to 3000 seedlings per hour this way

Mechanical weed control
Rotary harrow.png

Our rotary harrow works biomass upwards. Its tines are set to a grip and function like a corkscrew. Root weeds are brought to the surface where they dry out or are collected.

Inter-row mulcher.png

The inter-row mulcher reduces competition between vegetables and weeds. We are also experimenting with it using undersown crops. The device can also be used within the mulch layer.

Platzhalterbild

Dosing loading wagon

Einsatz:

Loading and unloading mulch material. Creates an even layer of mulch without manual labor.
Platzhalterbild

RapTrac

Einsatz:

Multi-tool as a lightweight alternative/supplement to the tractor, ELECTRIC. Shown here with the specially developed "inter-row mulcher", as well as mulching elements for green paths.
Platzhalterbild

Corkscrew rotary harrow

Einsatz:

A highly modular rotary harrow with quick-change tines for various soil cultivation methods and for use with a seed drill. It enables very shallow and gentle soil cultivation with Samurai blades, replacing the rotary tillers commonly used in regenerative agriculture. It can also be used as a rotary cultivator to uproot weeds such as docks and buttercups and bring them to the soil surface.

Inter-row mulcher

Einsatz:

For maintenance between plant rows: Mulching instead of weeding. Additionaly, his allows us to weed over a layer of mulch and control undersown plants or weeds in the vegetables. Attachment for the Raptrac with electric drive. Also usable on a tractor powered by a PTO generator.

Tractors with RTK GPS

Einsatz:

Automated steering on fixed lanes (1.77 m)

MulchTec-Planter

Einsatz:

Plant in a closed mulch layer or in unworked soil.

Collaborations

raptac_logo.avif

Raptrac is developing a multifunctional implement carrier for regenerative strip cropping. This lightweight, electric machine is already being used by us for sowing, mechanical weed control, and soil cultivation.

Hillbot is developing an electrically powered slope mower that performs its work fully automatically and weighs less than 50 kg.
